One Piece — Into the Grand Line

I cannot state enough how much i missed One Piece from my life.

Genuinely i missed this crew. Even if i dropped anime after Thriller Bark because it was unwatchable with it’s pacing.

But live action TV adaptation of One Piece cannot afford the sluggish pacing of anime and needed to go through first half of Alabasta Saga with only 8 hours, which is about 80 time less than anime needed for that. Surprisingly they even added some stuff that was reckoned in later chapters in current episodes…

# Loguetown

I was pleasantly surprised with how the show handled Loguetown

It was a single episode, and it had shown everything we needed to know and a bit more(I have no idea who Bartolomeo is, but he seems funny)

Also the first scene with Miss All Sunday was fucking amazing. And her role as a whole got widened in the show

# Reverse Mountain

Another arc collapsed into a single episode. It was fun. The Baroque Works calling cards replacing the flying posters were a good choice, now i want the similar thing for the Marines, maybe it could be an ID or badge

I had cried like a little bitch after Luffy sang the song to the whale. And who would expect Brooke to be casted so early to the show?

# Whisky Peak

It is very interesting that live action seems to be way more “trigger-happy” with killing off parts of the cast that have no more real use. Which adds nice suspense with who exactly gonna be dead and put every secondary character on the list

Special props to the stuntmen because all of the Zoro fights looked great

# Little Garden

Also Sanji got his moment too, but most importantly

MY BOI HAD WON A FIGHT AGAINST TWO REAL OPPONENTS BY USING ONLY THE POWER OF WIT, SLINGSHOT AND ENDURANCE!!!

# Drum Island

Choppa had became another victim to the Cheburashka’s VFX team. Why they hadn’t made him a muppet or a kid in a deer makeup? Poor boy looks hideous, especially in his monster form(which was done practically)

But i’ll not hide that i had been crying like a bitch then Hiriluk died

I rewatched first season and i must say that it is still the best currently running adaptation of the manga that i hadn’t read yet :)

Currently waiting for season 2
