Manifold Garden (2020)

Manifold Garden (2020)

A nice short game in the same vain as Portal, the main mechanic here is based on the paintings of Escher and constant breaking of space, gravity and fractal nature of all locations. I am sure that at least fourth of the game i was just falling through the infinitely cyclical megastructures to get the cube from point A to point B

Difficulty in this game is not as high as you might think, the game is actually pretty easy. The puzzles are based on three staples of cubes, doors and buttons on which you place cubes to open a door, also sometimes fountains(but functionally it’s lasers and light bridges from portal mixed into one). So if you could play Portal, this game will not be much harder

The main draw of it is aesthetics, everything reads well, surroundings are breathtaking, music is relaxing, and last but not least: there is no irritating narrator breaking the vibe with constant pretentiousness

Seriously, this game not having a narrator or any story at all is very refreshing.

P.S. Stop adding pretentious narrators to your high concept puzzle games, it worked only once in Stanley Parable and all the other times it was nothing more that Cargo Cult Game Design
